NAME: Mister Mesmer | Alfred Azam ORIGIN: A lowly government employee, Alfred Azam used to work at the H.E.R.O. (that's Hidden Enigmas, Research, and Observation) labs in Elgaf, Florida. One day, while researching the material properties of a strange pocketwatch that came through one of the portals, Alfred discovered he had a very unusual property.
When swung, the watch emitted a very low tone that would increase the suggestibility of whoever heard it due to the strange material the watch was made of.
Deciding that he'd had enough of the life of a lowly government employee, Alfred stole the watch and proceeded to take up a life of crime as The Marvelous Mister Mesmer.
PERSONALITY: Over-the-top corny and cheesey, Mesmer has the bombastic personality of a corny stage magician when they're in the middle of a fight. They tend to use underhanded tactics and have little qualms about hiding their identities or their powers. Mesmer tends to come across like an old vaudevillian villain, twirling moustache and all.
He's taken his newfound discovery in order to live up the high life- all he wants is whatever he can get.
ABILITIES/SUPERPOWERS: Mesmer himself does not have any super powers, but all his power comes from the pocket watch that never made it back through a portal. The watch is made out of a non-native substance that Mesmer has dubbed Mesmerite, which emits a low pulse when swung back and forth that increases suggestibility in whoever hears it and makes them more pliant with Mesmer's commands.
LIMITATIONS/WEAKNESSES: - All of Mesmer's power comes from his pocketwatch. Once it's out of his hand, he can't issue any more commands that would stick. - Any of his commands will wear off in about 30-60 minutes. - Earplugs or headphones will block out the noise the watch makes.
